Weddings are a time for celebration and good wishes. It is a time for flowers, romance, dancing and anything that has to do with the “L” word. It heralds a new beginning for the newlywed couple. It’s a time for them to enter into the realm of the unknown which happens to be married life.

But even before the big day comes, the days prior to it would be filled with hectic planning and coordinating. From finding the perfect wedding dress, the flowers, the catering service, the church and even the reception venue. Endless hours will be spent to have everything perfect.

Of course if it was your wedding, you’d love to have nothing less, right?

With all the ruckus a normal wedding can make, imagine what would happen if the wedding is a supernatural one? Yup it’s the vampires, werewolves, deities and other creatures having their moment. How would you feel if you open your mailbox and you see an invitation for one?
Before you panic and start worrying over what gift to give the supernatural couple, here is a book that would surely give you some ideas on what goes on such weddings. Maybe you can even get a tip or two on supernatural etiquette.

MY BIG FAT SUPERNATURAL WEDDING is a collection of short stories that deals with the ups and downs to weddings and the stories of love that binds them, in a supernatural way of course. It is a collaboration of nine of the best and upcoming supernatural writers. Topping the list are Sherrilyn Kenyon (Dark-Hunter series), Charlaine Harris (The Sookie Stackhouse Novels), Jim Butcher (Dresden Files) and many more talented writers.

It has nine stories that mix weddings and the world of the unknown in one fusion to delight readers. Here is a list of the stories:

Spellbound by L.A. Banks
The Hatfield and McCoy families have been feuding for ages. Jefferson McCoy and Odelia Hatfield relive the days of Romeo and Juliet. But the Capulets and Montagues do not fight against each other by using spells and voodoo, whereas the Hatfield and McCoys do! Will the two get married? Read on my friend…

Something Borrowed by Jim Butcher
Harry Dresden is tagged as a walking and breathing trouble magnet. Imagine fitting him into a wedding. This story is an amusing one as we see more of Harry’s wit and charming personality (ahem). Throw in some action, mystery, a stepmother from hell, love and a fairy tale, this story is sure a fun and exciting read!

Dead Man’s Chest by Rachel Caine
Ahoy there mateys (my best pirate impersonation), ever wondered what it would be like to be wed aboard a “pirate” ship? The heroine Cecilia Welles is in for a treat! Marrying aboard a ship and to a handsome rogue, Ian Taylor. Well, maybe it’s ok…if you lived in the 16th century.

All Shook Up by P.N. Elrod
Elvis at a wedding? Now that has got to be the wedding to beat all weddings. Frankie Foster’s life is her catering company. She was hired in one huge celebrity wedding when she was struck speechless at the sight of the Man from Memphis singing to entertain the guests. It was a remarkable resemblance from the face down to the voice. Is it the real deal?

The Wedding of Wylda Serene by Esther M. Freisner
With “It has been said that God makes marriages, but the Devil plans weddings” as an opener, this short story is bound to be a very good one! Nobody could stop a woman when her wedding is at stake. Never mind if there is a series of weird events surrounding the place where the wedding and the reception are to take place. All is set to go…

Charmed by the Moon by Lori Handlehand
Jessie McQuade is a hunter of the supernatural. She must be the last woman on earth who would want to be married and yet she finds herself tying the knot with Will Cadotte, an Ojibwe Native American. She loves him, does she not? But that was questioned when Jessie finds a love charm hidden by Will. Now they must put themselves to a test to see if the love they have is real or they were just charmed by the moon.

Tacky by Charlaine Harris
Now here comes a story from one of my favorite writers! Ah, the long-standing hostility between vampires and werewolves are very much alive in this short story. But imagine a wedding between a vampire and a werewolf, now that is simply too much. Dahlia Lynley-Chivers is a vampire reluctantly helping out her vamp gal Taffy who is to marry a werewolf named Don. She has her reservations about the upcoming nuptials but vows to weather it out. That is until she meets the best man.

A Hard Day’s Night-Searcher by Sherrilyn Kenyon
A story of love forbidden between an immortal ex-pirate Rafael Santiago and a strict to the code squire Celena. Rafael’s squire made a mess of things with other dark Hunters, Celena was then ordered by the Council to get the squire but Rafael steps in. He makes a deal with Celena in exchange for his squire’s freedom. Will it prove to be a wise decision or will it be the reason for their downfall? Falling in love never was easy.

“…Or Forever Hold Your Piece” by Susan Krinard
Set in Victorian England, this story is a tale of magic and mystery. Lady Emma Wakefield and Sir Edward Parish are set to tie the knot when a stranger objects to the wedding and later dies after doing so. Please be this a reminder to those thinking of saying “I object” at any wedding. I am just kidding, of course. When the bride then vanishes, magic is called on to help find her. Take a wild ride as Kit, a friend who aids them, tries to find the missing bride.
